Best Baby Products 2012

Just about a year ago I was sifting through book after book, review after review of baby products and was throughly confused at which products were best for our soon-to-be bundle of joy.  I have been doing the same research since then and am thrilled to name our favorite baby products for 2012.  Of course, there are other great products in these categories but through all our research these are the best in our mind.  I have also included links to our past product reviews so you can find more detail (where applicable) on these picks as well as the other options out there.  Without further ado… congrats to the winners of the best baby produts of 2012!

Best Infant Car Seat:  Graco Sungride 30
We choose the Graco because of its versatility with stroller models, safety ratings and durability but there are lots of other seats that are great too, check out our full infant car seat review for some of our other favorites.

Best Convertible Car Seat: Britax Boulevard 70
Britax makes several great convertible car seat models but we choose the Boulevard 70 for its true side impact protection and overall quality.  Check out our full convertible car seat review for some other great options as well as our car seat buying guide for more info on which seat you need when.

Best High Chair:  Baby Bjorn High Chair
We reviewed this high chair and personally use it everyday.  From the ease of cleaning, storage and overall use this high chair is great for urban, suburban and every lifestyle.

Best Stroller: UPPAbaby Vista
We consider this the can’t-go-wrong model of stroller and recommend it for anyone looking for a fabulous full size stroller.  You can see many more reasons why the Vista is the best of 2012 in our full size stroller review.  Be sure to check out the stroller buying guide for more information on stroller types and how to choose the right one for your lifestyle.

Best Conversion or Double Stroller: Bugaboo Donkey Duo
The Bugaboo Donkey can works for one to three children but makes it on our list as the best stroller for two children (twins or children of different ages).  We have a full page review coming up in the new year but the quality, ease of use and overall smooth ride make this our best double stroller of 2012. This stroller was also a strong contender for stroller of the year since it functions beautifully as a single stroller too!

Best Umbrella / Lightweight Stroller:  UPPAbaby G-Lite
I was torn about choosing this or the City Mini but the G-Lite really is the best umbrella type stroller on the market.  The G-Lite is one of the lightest on the market and with the UPPAbaby name you can’t go wrong.  See more of our thoughts in the umbrella stroller review.

Jogging Stroller: BOB Revolution
If there was an expert in the jogging stroller world, it is BOB.  So it is no surprise to see the Revolution as the best jogging stroller of 2012 – check out more of our thoughts in our jogging stroller review.

Best Monitor: VTECH Safe & Sound
Monitors can be tough and depending on your house and other electronics some may work better than others but we have found the Safe & Sound Digital monitor from VTECH to be pretty much flawless and for that reason it is the best of 2012.  Check out our full baby monitor review for some other great options.

Best Video Monitor: Motorla MBP36
The Motorola with its fancy features and secure transmission is the top among video monitors.  We love that you can add another camera when the next little one comes around.  Check out the video monitor review for more details and a few other options worth considering.

Best Newborn Sleep Option: The Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper Mini
If I had to choose my favorite baby product this would be it!  I can’t say enough great things about this as evidenced in our review as well as our favorite baby products at one month post.  If you are looking for a newborn sleep option – look no further!  I choose the mini due to space contrasts but the full size is just as great too.

Best Baby Carrier: Baby Bjorn Original
We have a full page review and giveaway coming up for this popular carrier in January but the Baby Bjorn Original is our pick for best baby carrier based on its ease of use and comfort.  Again, there are lots of other great carriers and they can be some what of a personal preference.

Best Baby Wrap Carrier: MOBY Wrap
The Moby Wrap remains one of our most popular giveaways to date and for good reason – in our minds it is the best baby wrap carrier. Not only is it super comfortable but can be configured many different ways to carry your growing child with ease.  We love a product that can stay around from newborn to toddler stage!

Best Infant Seat: 4MOMS Mamaroo
The 4MOMS Mamaroo tops our list for lots of reasons but most of all because of its comfort and soothing techniques.  The seat has five unique motions designed to mimic actually soothing motions (car ride, parents rocking, etc).  In our mind this functions as an infant seat and swing allowing your condense your baby gear footprint!

Best Pack ‘n Play: Graco Pack ‘n Play with Newborn Napper
We recently did a review of this handy pack ‘n play and after lots of use we feel confident naming this the best pack ‘n play of 2012.  With its ability to grow with your child from newborn to infant to toddler this is a piece of gear you will have for years to come.

Best Infant Bath Tub: Summer Infant Cushy Cradler
This comfy, cozy and best of all, safe tub from Summer Infant is another can’t-go-wrong product.  We reviewed several other adequate tubs but in our minds this one tops the list.
