DRIA Nursing Cover Review + a Giveaway!

When the team over at DRIA Nursing Covers wrote me about a product review I was excited and intrigued. As a breast feeding mama myself I am always looking for ways to make breastfeeding easier and more comfortable. When I took a look at the DRIA cover I thought – hey, maybe breastfeeding can be stylish too?!? So read on for my thoughts on this stylish breastfeeding accessory and of course, we are giving one away to a lucky reader!

Highlights: The DRIA (Discreet Reliable Infant Accessory) arrived nicely packaged and while the website advertised the fabric to be “super soft” I am always skeptical. BUT the fabric is ah-mazingly soft. A great perk of this super soft fabric is that is doesn’t not wrinkle. Over the last week, I have had it in my diaper bag, purse, bottom of the stroller, etc and it doesn’t have a single wrinkle. The cover is super lightweight and can be folded (i.e. crammed) into small spaces. Not to mention, it washes and dries very nicely. The cover fits well and is very roomy. This could also be a cute maternity top belted or just worn poncho style (wish I would have had one!). Enough about aesthetics – how does it function? Great! With the aforementioned roomy fit and softness the cover is easy to use. There isn’t so much fabric your baby is swimming in it but there is just enough to be discreet, make you feel comfortable all while keeping your buy comfortable. Nursing cover aside, I actually love, love that this can also be used as a stroller or car seat cover. For the past three months, I have been looking for a decent solution (other than a blanket draped over the stroller or car seat) to shield the sun from Eloise’s eyes on our morning walks. And here it is! You know how much I love a multi-functional product! Here is the cover in action…

Lowlights: One negative about this cover is the ability to see your little one when they are nursing. The opening is certainly big enough to see your little one but the nature of the drapey fabric requires a hand to “peek in”. Now this may really bother some people but it didn’t bother me too much. I actually appreciated the extra confidence it gave me that if in public, I wasn’t going to be accidentally flashing people! I will say that the DRIA covers retail price ($79.95) is a little on the steep side for a nursing cover. However, because this can be worn pre/post nursing, used a stroller and car seat cover and even as a blanket or burp cloth in a pinch I think it is worth the price. Not to mention the quality of materials is superior to other covers I have seen.

Bottom Line: I highly recommend the DRIA nursing cover. I love the fact it is made in the U.S.A and the super soft cotton is heavenly to me and and Eloise too. For a modest soul like myself, I feel secure being in public or around guests in my home using this cover – and I don’t say this lightly. I would venture to say I am more modest about breastfeeding than 99% people out there! Lastly and most of all, I love the multi functionality of the DRIA cover and that even post nursing I will have a use for it!
